Express Entry is an online application management system used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) program, and aims to ensure faster processing and better economic outcomes for permanent residence to Canada.
The interested applicants meeting the eligibility criteria submit a profile in the Express Entry pool, known as an Expression of Interest (EOI). Below are the steps in which the Express Entry works.
- Create an Express Entry Profile
- Submit the profile in the Express Entry pool
- Receive an invitation to apply
- Apply for permanent residence
Rounds of invitation
A comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is a point based system which is used to rank the candidates. The profiles with highest-ranks are picked up from the Express Entry Pool and receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence.
Every year the federal government issues invitations at regular intervals.
